Floodplain Administration as well as CRS coordination for Fema flood insurance are housed in the Building Department located at 190 Malabar Road SW Suite 105. Currently Palm Bay has a CRS Rating of 7 which equates to a 15% reduction in FEMA Flood Insurance for the residents of Palm Bay. The Building department software maintains copies of all floodplain reviews with FEMA Elevation Certificates issued since 1993. Copies of all Letter of Map Amendments and Revisions (LOMA/ LOMR) from FEMA are also available.

For flood insurance questions, flood zone determinations, Base Flood Elevations, Elevation Certificates, Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) applications and floodplain permits please contact the Building department at (321) 953-8924.

Please be advised that the City will not process LOMR-F applications for any lots. It is the contractor's responsibility to make application with FEMA to remove the structure from the Special Flood Hazard Area. By removing the structure from the Special Flood Hazard Area, the owner is not required to carry flood insurance for a Federally Insured Mortgage. The LOMR-F qualifies the structure for Preferred Risk Flood Policy (PRP) if the owner chooses.
