Introduction to Fossil Hunting is open to all ages and the cost is $10 per person.  Students should meet at the Nature Center no later than 2 PM.  The class will consist of approximately one hour of classroom discussion on the tools and techniques used in fossil hunting.  The second hour of class will be spent examining various vertebrate fossils that were collected in Florida. 

An optional field trip to the Peace River (town of Arcadia) will be planned and discussed during class time.  The field trip will be led by Mark Renz, a world-renowned field guide and expert in Florida fossils.  Information regarding date, time, and cost will be discussed in class.
