MALABAR RD AND BABCOCK STREET CORRIDOR SIGNAL TIMING

The City of Palm Bay Public Works and Growth Management Departments are currently working together on a signal timing project along the Malabar Road and Babcock Street corridors. The signal timings will be adjusted to help increase efficiency to accommodate the morning and evening traffic. The new timings will be implemented for the morning between 6:30am and 9:30am and the evening between 4:30pm and 7:30pm.

As these timings are implemented, please note that field adjustments will be made to ensure the most effective and efficient timings are implemented. Please note that some delays may occur as these adjustments are made.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact Elia Twigg, P.E., Public Works Division Manager at 321-953-8996.

PALM BAY ROAD LANE CLOSURES

Brevard County has begun the Palm Bay Road Widening Project from Minton Road to RJ Conlan Boulevard, including .5 miles of Babcock Street.  This project consists of the widening of Palm Bay Road to six lanes with resurfacing, drainage improvements, bridge widening at I-95, and new signalization and signage along Palm Bay Road.  Commuters will experience nightly lane closures from 6:30pm to 7:00am.  Brevard County estimates this project will last approximately 950 days from January 3, 2008.
