Police and Firefighters pension plan - board of trustees

Function:

Observes and oversees the operation of the system and fund, makes recommendations for improvements, determines and authorizes all claims and entitlements to benefits, determines by uniform rules all questions concerning credited service and membership. Prepares and renders annually to the Palm Bay City Council a complete accounting of the financial and other transactions of the retirement fund and system.

 

Membership Requirements:

  • 2 - City residents  - appointed by City Council
  • 1 - Police officer - elected by police officers
  • 1 - Firefighter - elected by firefighters

 

Maximum Number of Members:

Five (5) - 5th member chosen by Board

 

Length of Term:

2 Years
