Municipal Charter School Authority

Function:

Establishes regulations for the governing, management, and operation of municipal charter schools. Reviews and approves curriculum, purchases and leases grounds and erects buildings for municipal charter schools. 

 

Membership Requirements:

2 - Parents or guardians of current municipal charter school students:

  • Nominated by parents/guardians through its respective Parent, Teacher, and Student Organization;

2 - Educational and/or professional backgrounds and experiences:

  • Current or former educator; or
  • Business, finance and/or real estate development;
 

          1 - City administrator, designated by the City Manager.

 

Maximum Number of Members:

Five (5)

 

Length of Term:

2 Years

 

Meeting Location:

City Hall Council Chambers, 120 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay

 

Meeting Day/Time:

3rd Monday of each month, 5:00 p.m.

 

Requires filing of Statement of Financial Interests with Brevard County Supervisor of Elections.

 

Note:  All members are required to submit to fingerprinting and a background check through the Office of District and School Security prior to attending a meeting.
